Family-friendly, wide-open, and remote
North of the famous resort towns near Green Mountain Reservoir, the Heeney Outpost is built for all skill levels. Every tour gets a huge three-quarter-mile oval play area to warm up and get comfortable, plus groomed trails through old-growth forest, hot cocoa at The Overlook cabin, and an optional snow tubing add-on. Expect big scenery: the Gore Range, Eagles Nest Wilderness, Lower Cataract Lake, and the Continental Divide. It sits far from the highways, so a private ride in makes the day effortless.
High alpine and advanced
South of Copper Mountain toward Leadville, roughly 45 to 50 minutes from Breckenridge and Keystone, the Birdseye Outpost is the high country. The trail system starts near 10,000 feet and tops out over 12,600, with mountain-top and advanced tours, a warm-up meadow and Cocoa Tent, and views of Colorado’s tallest peaks, including the two highest, plus Leadville’s historic mining district and as many as 14 of the state’s fourteeners. The road in is high and snowy, exactly where you want a chauffeur who drives it daily.
