Aspen sits close to 200 miles west of Denver, about four hours each way over high mountain passes, often in snow. That is a long drive to take on yourself. With Gold Rush you skip all of it. You ride in a clean, comfortable vehicle with a professional chauffeur while we handle the road and the weather.

Gold Rush Transportation chauffeurs and fleet in the snow
Arrivals

Denver Airport to Aspen

We track your flight and meet you at baggage claim at Denver International. From there it is about a four hour drive west on I-70 and Highway 82 through Glenwood Springs. Your chauffeur handles the passes and the winter roads while you relax. One private vehicle, your group only, straight to your door in Aspen or Snowmass.

The Drive

The Road to Aspen

The year round route follows I-70 west to Glenwood Springs, then Highway 82 up the valley to Aspen. In summer, Independence Pass offers a shorter and stunning alternative. Either way, you sit back and enjoy the scenery. We know the road, the weather, and the fastest path on any day.

Departures

Aspen to Denver Airport

The ride home is just as easy to book. Tell us your flight time and we build in the right cushion for Highway 82, I-70, and winter conditions, so you reach the airport with room to spare. Early departures are no problem. Book your return when you book your arrival and the whole trip is set.

Aspen Airports

Flying Into Aspen or Eagle

Many guests fly closer to save the drive. Aspen has its own airport, ASE, just minutes from town. Eagle County Airport, EGE, is about seventy minutes away and often has more flights. We meet you at either one with the same private SUV or Sprinter service and the same flight tracking.

Why Gold Rush

Why a Chauffeur Beats Driving or a Shuttle

Aspen is four hours of mountain driving each way. A rental car puts that on you, in the snow, plus parking once you arrive. A shared shuttle runs on its own clock and stops for everyone. A private chauffeur from Gold Rush is your vehicle, your timing, and a driver who knows the mountain. For an Aspen trip, that is the whole experience.

Aspen ski season transportation

Aspen is the longest of the mountain runs from Denver, roughly four hours in winter once Independence Pass closes and the route follows Interstate 70 through Glenwood Springs. That makes a private Aspen shuttle or airport transfer the most comfortable way to do it. We run door to door car service in both directions, Denver International to Aspen and Aspen to Denver airport, with a professional chauffeur, one flat rate per vehicle, and no shared stops along the way.

Winter driving on I-70. When Colorado activates the traction law, every vehicle needs snow tires, all wheel drive with real tread, or chains, and many rental cars do not qualify. Our chauffeurs drive this corridor every day of the winter in properly equipped vehicles, so a storm becomes our problem instead of yours. You can check conditions any time on our live I-70 conditions page.

Skis, snowboards, boot bags, and oversized luggage all travel with you. Our luxury SUVs handle couples and small families, and our Mercedes Sprinter vans carry up to ten guests with their gear, so a group and its equipment stay in one vehicle for the whole transfer.

Holiday dates go first. Christmas week, New Year, MLK weekend, Presidents Day, and spring break fill earliest, and the best pickup times on those dates are usually gone well before the date arrives. If you already know your travel days, lock them in now rather than close to the trip.

Aspen ski transportation questions

Is there a shuttle from Denver to Aspen in winter?
Yes. We run private door to door shuttles and airport transfers between Denver and Aspen all winter. Unlike a shared shuttle, a private transfer leaves when you land, carries only your group, and drives straight to your lodging with your ski gear aboard.
How long does Denver to Aspen take in winter?
Plan on about four hours in winter. Independence Pass closes for the season, so the route runs west on Interstate 70 through Glenwood Springs and then south to Aspen. Storms can add time, which is why we build a cushion into airport departures.
Can you do Aspen to Denver airport for a departing flight?
Yes, and it is one of our most requested winter transfers. We watch road and weather conditions and set your pickup time so you reach Denver International with room to spare, even if the corridor slows down.
Should I fly into Aspen or Denver?
Aspen has its own airport and is far closer, but winter weather diverts flights there more often than at Denver International, which has far more flight options. Many travelers fly into Denver and take a private transfer precisely because it is the reliable option in a storm.
Do you carry skis and snowboards?
Always, at no extra charge. Tell us how many sets of equipment when you book and we will send the right vehicle.
