This is a private tour for your group only. No strangers, no crowded bus, no fixed schedule you have to keep. Your chauffeur handles all the mountain driving while you relax, take photos, and set the pace. The route climbs from Vail and Beaver Creek over one of the highest paved passes in North America, drops into Aspen for lunch and shopping, and loops home through the sheer walls of Glenwood Canyon.

Because you pay one flat rate per vehicle, a full group rides for less per person than most shared bus tours, and you get a luxury SUV or Mercedes Sprinter with air conditioning and bottled water instead of a coach seat.

Your day, stop by stop

The tour departs Vail and Beaver Creek at 8:00 am and runs about 8 hours door to door. Here is how the day unfolds.

Twin Lakes
Pass by, no stop
Pass the historic village of Twin Lakes at the foot of Mount Elbert, Colorado’s highest peak. The glacial lakes and 19th century stage stop buildings make a beautiful backdrop as you climb toward the pass.

Independence Pass summit
30 minute photo stop
Stand on the summit of Independence Pass, 12,095 feet above sea level on the Continental Divide. Your chauffeur stops at the overlook so you can step out, photograph the alpine tundra and surrounding peaks, and take in one of the most spectacular viewpoints in Colorado.

Downtown Aspen
About 2 hours of free time
Enjoy roughly two hours on your own in downtown Aspen. Stroll the pedestrian malls, browse the galleries and boutiques, grab lunch at one of Aspen’s famous restaurants, or ride the Silver Queen Gondola. Your chauffeur meets you at an agreed spot when you are ready to continue.

Glenwood Canyon
Pass by on the return
On the way home along Interstate 70 you ride through Glenwood Canyon, where the Colorado River carves 1,300 foot walls of layered rock. This stretch of highway is one of the most scenic drives in the country and completes your loop through the Rockies.

Pickup and drop off

We pick you up door to door from your hotel, condo, or residence in the Vail or Beaver Creek area at your scheduled time. Your chauffeur arrives in a black luxury SUV or Mercedes Sprinter, professionally dressed. Drop off is at the same place we picked you up. We track your reservation and send your driver details before the tour.

  • Stroller accessible, and infant seats are available on request at no guessing, just tell us ages and weights
  • Service animals are welcome
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • The summit sits above 12,000 feet, so it is not recommended for travelers with heart problems or other serious medical conditions
  • Suitable for most travelers, and comfortable for families
  • The tour runs July 22 through October 31, since Independence Pass closes for the winter in early November

Booking and cancellation

Reserve in advance and we confirm your date, pickup time, and vehicle before your tour. Cancel free up to 24 hours before your start time for a full refund. Inside 24 hours the tour is non refundable. If severe weather makes the pass unsafe, we may cancel and give you a full refund.
